When Labour Walks The Lines: The Workers' Side of the Story

Join us as we delve into discussion with our guest panelists surrounding significant job action events across Vancouver’s labour history including: the 2001 Transit Strike, the 2004 HEU Strike, the 2007 Municipal Workers’ Strike (aka Sam’s Strike), and the 2014 BCTF Teacher’s Strike.
Panel discussion will be moderated by Irene Lanzinger, President of BC Federation of Labour, who will engage with panelists around stories, tactics, and historic narratives aimed at the negative framing of specific workers’ resistance movements in Vancouver. Panelists include: Donisa Bernardo (HEU), Glen Hansman (BCTF), Joe Elworthy (UNIFOR Local 2200), and Aliza Navarie (CUPE 391).
